Free physiotherapy camp at Sabarimala

Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy in association with the Indian Association of Physiotherapy (IAP), Kerala and Pathanamthitta Rehabilitation & Palliative Centre Society (PRPC) organised a free physiotherapy camp at Sabarimala during the Makara Jyothi period from 6th to 12th January 2024. The Ayyappa devotees coming to the Sannidanam barefoot, through Pulimedu, Erumeli and Pampa usually suffer from physical ailments such as severe calf pain, ligament tear, knee pain, back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and severe muscle cramps. Understanding this, the Physiotherapy healthcare fraternity provided a Physiotherapy Centre at 'Emergency Medical Care Centre 7 (EMC 7)', at Sabari Peedam.

Principal Prof. Dr Dhanesh Kumar K U, Dr Jayesh Chandran, Dr Krishna Prasad from NIPT along with other physiotherapy faculty joined the camp on 6th January 2024. An average of 100 devotees were treated per day at EMC 7 by the team.

Around 670 devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, North Kanara and Kerala availed this free service.
